Kristina Kamensky
Duration of Employment: July 2009 to December 2009
Graduated in March of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. Joined the TechWorks team to help affiliates with their goals; from starting a company or expanding their already successful company.
Upon seeing the stage-gate structure that TechWorks follows for affiliate and client companies, Kristina had sparked an interest in starting a company of her own. While coordinating and attending the FastTrac TechVenture events, a partnership occurred with Dr. Homayun Navaz, a professor at Kettering University facilitating the Chemical Engineering Program. He had a working concept to reduce energy consumption of open vertical display cases, but required help with commercialization. Prismitech LLC was then formed.
TechWorks awarded a scholarship to Kristina in order for her to pursue a Masters degree. She became the first TechWorks Fellow Graduate Student. In August of 2009, she was awarded a Graduate Research Assistant position by Dr. Joel Berry, the head of the Mechanical Engineering department. Kristina was appointed the Program Manager of Team RainMaker, the Kettering University Formula Zero Fuel Cell Racing Team.
She will graduate in September with a Masters in Engineering, upon the completion of her coursework and thesis. Kristina plans to move Prismitech LLC to the recently completed Innovation Center, and continue to grow the company.
